Vystudoval SPŠ výroby hudebních nástrojů v Kraslicích a Konzervatoř v Plzni (obor klarinet a dirigování). Působí jako pedagog na ZUŠ ve Třemošné, kde založil a vede orchestr TREMOLO, se kterým získal nejvyšší ocenění na celostátní soutěži orchestrů v Litvínově (Zlaté pásmo – 2010, Zlaté pásmo a titul Absolutní vítěz – 2014, 2017), natočil několik CD a pro který napsal a instrumentoval desítky skladeb.
Od roku 2003 je členem muzikálového orchestru Divadla J. K. Tyla v Plzni (klarinet, saxofon) a od roku 2013 také dirigentem (Divotvorný hrnec, Producenti, Sugar aneb Někdo to rád horké, Hello Dolly, Liduschka, West Side Story, Chyť mě, jestli na to máš, Sweeney Todd).
Jako instrumentalista se pohybuje napříč žánry. Je členem Pigeon Saxophone Quartet a Swingového orchestru Jana Matouška. Spolupracuje s Českým rozhlasem v Plzni jako autor hudebních pořadů a příležitostně i jako hudební režisér.
Píše instruktážní skladby a metodické učebnice pro potřeby žáků ZUŠ, věnuje se aranžování a kompozici, zejména pak ve spolupráci se strýcem, textařem Václavem Bártou st. (Kolíbačky, Paměti vrby, Životaběh). Je spoluautorem dětského muzikálu Muzikantská pohádka pro DJKT v Plzni.
